Funny how Tifa is the biggest Clerith of all, but Cloti’s think her feelings have no basis in reality (ie: they project their sexist view on Tifa of women being illogical/emotional when it comes to love)

Tifa observes exactly what us Clerith’s observed in both Final Fantasy VII and Advent Children — Cloud is romantically interested in Aerith. Tifa wishes Clerith wasn’t so, but unfortunately for her, it only takes witnessing Cloud and Aerith’s chemistry to see their romantic bond. Tifa expresses this same jealously even after Aerith’s death, in Advent Children. The proof:

1. ”The thing which she is unable to hide in her irritation towards Cloud is the fact that he isn’t merely dragging the past around, but because that reason might perhaps be related to Aerith.

Final Fantasy VII: Seeing Cloud and Aerith developing their world together before her eyes, she inadvertently lets slip her peevish feelings.

Advent Children: Upon knowing that Cloud had been residing in Aerith’s church after leaving the place they had been living in together, her expression becomes complex.”

~Tifa’s character profile, 10th Anniversary Ultimania, Square Enix

2. "Both of them share feelings for Cloud — Tifa was close to Aerith, who can also be called a love rival. With that point in mind, they were also good friends.

Nevertheless, it is not hard to imagine that she carries complex feelings as a woman toward Aerith, who had built up a special bond with Cloud that was different from Tifa’s.

Tifa’s complicated feelings continue even in AC, two years after Aerith had departed the world.”

~Final Fantasy 10th Anniversary Ultimania, Square Enix

I, for one, do not believe Tifa was being the stereotypical emotional/illogical woman Cloti’s like to portray her as. IMO, her feelings were based in reality and common sense.

Cloud thinks Aerith’s eyes were "impressive" —->

Cloud thinks Aerith’s smile was a "good purchase" —->

Cloud leaves his initial meeting with Aerith with a “mysterious feeling” —->

Cloud agrees to be Aerith’s bodyguard for the price of a romantic date —->

Square Enix decides to make Cloud have a flashback about romantic relationships in Aerith’s house. What triggered this flashback? —->

Cloud and Aerith share an intimate date in the Sector 5 Park —->

Cloud canonly tells Marlene he "hopes" Aerith likes him —->

Cloud says he will always be there for Aerith in Cosmo Canyon. A classic romantic confession. —->

Cloud and Aerith share a canon date at Golden Saucer, where, according to Square Enix’s "For the One I Love" page, Cloud further develops love for Aerith on their canon date. —->

Square Enix intentionally included a “wedding” prediction by Cait Sith regarding Cloud and Aerith’s affinity that becomes "more painful" after Aerith’s death. It is clear —after Aerith’s fate— why a "wedding" prediction would become “more painful”; it prevented a mutual romance from blossoming into a marriage. —->

Cloud associates his Promised Land [his supreme happiness] with Aerith at the end of Final Fantasy VII —->

Square Enix has said, in three languages, that Cloud is Aerith’s "koibito" [lover in Japanese] —->

Note: This post is not even taking into consideration Cloud and Aerith’s official artwork, cameos, etc. etc.
